Join some of Queensland’s favourite writers for an intimate evening sharing the words that astounded, confronted, delighted and changed them in a very special fundraiser for those affected by the fires across Australia.
Held in the beautiful Ithaca Room at Brisbane’s City Hall (kindly donated by the Brisbane City Council) enjoy hearing a mixed dozen of Queensland authors reading aloud from their most beloved books - from childhood favourites to the words that stopped them in their tracks.
Sharing their stories beneath the Brisbane City Hall’s iconic clock tower - and the stories behind each tale - for this very special fundraising event with all ticket proceeds to go to Australian Red Cross are:
Melissa Ashley, Matthew Condon, Trent Dalton, Nick Earls, Ashley Hay, Anita Heiss, Krissy Kneen, Melissa Lucashenko, Kristina Olsson, Sally Piper, Rebecca Sparrow and Frances Whiting.
Avid Reader will be selling books in the foyer with 20 percent of sales to the Australian Red Cross. Authors will be available to sign books.
If Avid Reader cancels an event, we will try to reschedule it for a later date. If we cannot reschedule the event, or if you are unable to attend on the amended date, your payment will be refunded in full. Except in special circumstances, if you cancel a booking for, or are unable to attend an event, Avid Reader cannot provide a refund.
