Curious Kids Live: Meet spider, bug and dinosaur experts – and real creepy crawlies.

Are you a curious kid full of questions about dinosaurs, bugs or spiders – but your parents don’t always have the answers? Come along to meet three experts and ask them yourself! There will also be real creepy crawlies to see, including live spiders, centipedes, scorpions and more (parents: don't worry, they'll all be inside secure containers).

The event will be chaired by The Conversation’s Liz Minchin and will feature University of Queensland researchers Samantha Nixon, Andrew Walker and Caitlin Syme. And yes, they will be answering all Curious Kids questions in kid-speak, rather than academic jargon.

We’ll also be launching The Conversation’s 2019 yearbook, which includes several of the best Curious Kids articles of the year, including Samantha and Andrew’s article Curious Kids: why do spiders need so many eyes but we only need two?

And read some of Caitlin’s past Conversation articles, including Curious Kids: why did the dinosaurs die? and Curious Kids: did the velociraptors have feathers?

Curious Kids is a popular series by TheConversation.com – a not-for-profit source of educational news and analysis –where we ask academic experts to answer real questions from real kids, from toddlers up to teens. You can read our latest pieces here and Curious Kids questions can be sent to [email protected]

Tickets are free - but will go fast, so book early to avoid disappointment
