This half-day class with writer-scientist Amanda Niehaus and Professor of biology Robbie Wilson will analyse the relationship between sex and death in the natural world, and link scientific concepts and images with literature and art to generate new material. Participants of all writing and scientific backgrounds will come away with a deeper understanding of how sex and death drive both evolution and narrative structure and ideas for integrating science into any kind of writing.

Refund Policy

Crafting Words workshops require a minimum of 15 participants. If Avid Reader cancels a workshop due to lack of participants we will try to reschedule it for a later date. If we cannot reschedule the event, or if you are unable to attend on the amended date, your payment will be refunded in full. Except in special circumstances, if you cancel a booking for, or are unable to attend your workshop, Avid Reader cannot provide a refund.
