jack2Jack grew up in Canberra and in 2008 moved to Brisbane to study writing at QUT. While his original vision was to become a playwright (for the purpose of meeting actresses) he has since become particularly keen on short fiction and was awarded the 2010 QUT Undergraduate Writing Prize for his story, Legs (since published in Voiceworks). In 2011 he will attempt an honours year most likely resulting in alcoholism.

At the moment he likes Annie Proulx, Dennis Johnson, Donald Barthlme and Thomas McGuane, as well as the regulars (Hemmingway, Vonnegut, F. Scotty, etc.), anything set on a mountain, anything set in a forest, anything with a cowboy, tall ships, songs about having to shoot your baby down, and clawhammer banjo.

He is still interested in writing plays for the purpose of meeting actresses. If you are an actress or know any actresses then Jack can be contacted at Avid or at his blog, Strong Dead Animal.
