Join the Friends of Stradbroke Island (FOSI) for the launch of A Nature Guide to North Stradbroke Island - Minjerribah.

North Stradbroke Island - Minjerribah lying just off Brisbane is famous for its magnificent surfing beaches and spectacular Humpback Whales swimming close to shore. But there is so much more to this ancient sand island's natural world. This guidebook illustrates the beauty and complexity of the island's unique wildlife and ecology.

Common and rare land and marine species are highlighted. The island's dolphins, turtles, whales, birds, koalas, kangaroos, frogs, lizards, butterflies and dragonflies, and its special wildflowers, trees and landscapes are all featured.

Beautifully illustrated with over 700 photographs, the guidebook has been compiled by members of the Friends of Stradbroke Island, a non-profit community group, dedicated to protecting the island's unique fragile environment. Expert ecologists, naturalists, and scientists have reviewed and contributed to the book. Every chapter is based on the latest research.

Complete with tips on exploring the island's beaches, marine environment, inland lakes and bushland, the book aims to be a  useful and informative companion when enjoying the island's wild places.

Whether you're a first time visitor,  nature lover or have been to the island many times before, this book is a must have. An indispensable nature guide to Straddie!
